Szeged’s Papucs Day and Szentendre’s Summer Arts Festival showcase Hungarian heritage

Meanwhile, Szentendre’s downtown has been transformed for over five weeks by a summer arts programme that includes theatre, concerts, folk‑dance, and exhibitions. Highlights include a solo exhibition of artist Nagy László at the Petőfi Literary Museum, a showcase of young basket‑weavers and carpet‑weavers at the House of Traditions, and a travelling exhibition of works by members of the Hungarian Academy of Arts displayed in Kraków until late July. The schedule also features performances by local theatre groups, orchestral concerts, and a range of experimental and classic productions across the town’s historic venues.
