Sziget Festival launches SZociety movement to support Hungarian youth mental health
Hungary’s Sziget Festival has introduced the SZociety movement and the SZuper SZociety award to spotlight and back professionals, NGOs and community groups that work daily to improve the mental wellbeing of young people aged 12‑30. The initiative responds to rising digital pressure, performance anxiety and loneliness among today’s teens and twenty‑somethings.
“ A mai tizen- és huszonévesek minden korábbinál nagyobb lelki terhelés alatt élnek. A folyamatos online jelenlét, a teljesítménykényszer és a digitális zaj sokak számára szorongást, túlterheltséget vagy magányt jelent.”
The award, judged by a professional jury and the youth participants themselves, has two categories – BASIC (local) and HORIZONT (national) – and invites applications from civil organisations, educational institutions and community projects that have been active for at least a year. The deadline for submissions is midnight on 19 July 2026. Winners will be announced on the Sziget main stage during the festival. The movement will operate year‑round, linking help‑givers with companies and cultural actors, offering concert tickets and other benefits to sustain their work.
