Sziget Festival stages multi‑generational Bródy János tribute concert

On August 9, 2026, the Sziget Festival’s Minus‑One‑Day will host a specially programmed “Bródy Dalok Napja” concert honouring Hungarian songwriter Bródy János. More than 50 domestic artists from three generations are slated to perform around 70 of Bródy’s best‑known songs, including re‑interpretations by younger acts and original renditions by seasoned performers.

The event, directed by Novák Péter with musical production by Závodi Gábor, aims to bridge musical eras and celebrate Bródy’s eightieth birthday. Festival founder Gerendai Károly said the concert’s message – “we are all different, but together we belong” – reflects Sziget’s core values of freedom, inclusion and cultural diversity. Participants include Azahriah, Bagossy Brothers Company, Beton Hofi, Blahalouisiana, Carson Coma, Lovasi András, and many others, underscoring the cross‑generational collaboration.
