Szántód–Jabapuszta route named finalist for Forest Cycling Route of the Year 2026

The Szántód–Jabapuszta forest cycling route has been selected as one of the five finalists for the ‘Forest Cycling Route of the Year 2026’ award. The competition, organized by the National Forestry Association’s Forest Exploration Department in cooperation with the Forest Sports Department as part of the ‘Forest Week’ event series, involves a public vote that concludes on October 12.

The nominated route features high-quality forest asphalt paths through the hills of Somogy County. It is noted for its connectivity to the BB365 network and its accessibility from Szántód, Zamárdi, and Balatonföldvár. The selection process included a professional evaluation of technical design, safety, usability, and service levels before moving to the public voting stage.
