Szymon Hołownia potentially considered for ambassador role to Holy See
Speculation is growing regarding whether Szymon Hołownia, leader of the Polska 2050 party, could be appointed as Poland’s ambassador to the Holy See. Sources within his own party suggest a strong motivation to take up a diplomatic post abroad.
While the role at the Vatican is viewed by some as a prestigious position, it is also seen as a potential way to resolve internal coalition tensions. Moving Hołownia to a diplomatic role could simplify relations within the governing coalition, as he is perceived by some partners as a difficult collaborator.
However, the appointment faces significant hurdles. The process would require approval from President Karol Nawrocki, and there are ongoing discussions regarding the paralysis within Polish diplomacy and the appointment of various diplomatic posts.
