T-Cure and Kosin University Gospel Hospital partner for obesity and diabetes clinical research
Medical device startup T-Cure has signed a memorandum of understanding with Kosin University Gospel Hospital to conduct joint clinical research on endoscopic medical devices for treating obesity and type 2 diabetes.
The research focuses on Duodenal Mucosal Resurfacing (DMR), a minimally invasive procedure that uses a laser treatment system to induce mucosal regeneration in the duodenum. The goal is to evaluate how this procedure affects metabolic environments and blood glucose regulation.
T-Cure will provide the laser system, ‘EndoCure’—which has received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation—and fiber optic balloon catheters. Professor Kim Bu-kyung of the Department of Endocrinology at Kosin University Gospel Hospital will serve as the Principal Investigator. The collaboration aims to accumulate clinical evidence for safety and efficacy to support future domestic and international licensing and commercialization.
