T. J. DeCaire wins CARS Tour Pro Late Model race at Hickory
T. J. DeCaire secured a dominant victory in the CARS Tour Pro Late Model race at Hickory Motor Speedway, leading all 100 laps from the pole position. Driving for Low Country Motorsports, DeCaire’s win marks his first of the season and comes in only his second start with the team, following a second-place finish at North Wilkesboro.
The race was characterized by frequent interruptions, including two significant multi-car pile-ups caused by missed shifts from Brody Monohan, which turned the 100-lap event into a nearly two-hour endurance race. Despite the numerous cautions and restarts, DeCaire maintained control of the field to secure the win.
The victory held personal significance as the car featured a throwback paint scheme honoring Mike Garvey, who serves as DeCaire’s Super Late Model crew chief. Additionally, the win marked the first victory for Low Country Motorsports owners AJ Frank and Mikey Kile as car owners. Conner Jones finished in second place, followed by Treyten Lapcevich in third.
