T-Mobile updates Magenta TV with new interface and navigation
T-Mobile has begun rolling out a redesigned interface for its Magenta TV service as of November 2. The update, which is being deployed throughout the month to customers using supported smart TVs, tablets, and mobile devices, focuses on providing a clearer environment and easier navigation.
Key changes include moving the main navigation from the top bar to the left side of the screen, accessible via the back button, arrow keys, or a blue button on the remote. The home screen now prioritizes frequently used items. The previous Recordings section has been replaced by My List, where recorded programs, movies, series, and planned recordings are stored for 30 days. This section also includes content from the Video Library.
New search features allow users to find content by genre, popularity, or actor names. Additionally, a new section for streaming services has been added. T-Mobile stated that while the appearance and controls have changed, prices and tariffs remain the same. Note that T-Mobile has ceased updating the application for Samsung and LG smart TVs from 2017 and 2018.
