T-Mobile US reports strong Q3 2026 earnings and customer growth

T-Mobile US reported third-quarter 2026 financial results characterized by significant profit growth and higher-than-expected customer additions. Net income rose 27.3 percent to 3.46 billion dollars, while diluted earnings per share increased 33.6 percent to 3.22 dollars. Total revenue reached 23.58 billion dollars, a 7.4 percent increase year-over-year.

The company added 274,000 postpaid net accounts, exceeding analyst expectations despite a decline compared to the previous year. Service revenue grew 6.2 percent, driven by a 9.3 percent increase in postpaid service revenue. T-Mobile also raised its 2026 cash flow outlook, reflecting improved operating performance.

While profitability improved, some metrics showed signs of competitive pressure. Postpaid account churn rose to 1.09 percent from 0.97 percent a year ago, and net account additions slowed compared to previous quarters. Additionally, reports indicate that Deutsche Telekom has currently paused plans for a formal merger with its US subsidiary, T-Mobile US, following internal resistance and strategic considerations.
