Ta Phinh Bay offers seasonal landscape in Son La

In Tan Yen commune, Son La province, a unique seasonal phenomenon known locally as ‘Ta Phinh Bay’ has been drawing attention. Spanning approximately 300 hectares, this area is not a traditional sea-connected bay but a low-lying valley nestled among mountains.

During the dry season, the land is primarily used by local residents for farming crops such as rice and corn. However, during the rainy season—typically between August and November—water from the surrounding areas accumulates in the depression, transforming the valley into a series of winding lakes and waterways.

This seasonal shift offers distinct tourism experiences. In dry periods, visitors seek the area for nature and tranquility. During the flooded months, locals utilize existing farming shelters to provide services and offer boat tours, allowing tourists to navigate the waterways and view the surrounding mountain landscapes and traditional villages from a different perspective.
