TAAG cancels planned strike by maintenance technicians

TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola has cancelled a strike by maintenance technicians that was scheduled to begin on September 1. The decision follows meetings between the airline's administration and union structures.

The airline stated that the withdrawal of the strike notice allows for the continued normal operation of its services and maintains the negotiation process through dialogue. The administration aims to reach a “balanced and sustainable solution” regarding labor matters.

Clóvis Rosa, Chairman of the Board of Directors at TAAG, emphasized the importance of dialogue, noting that while positions still need to be reconciled, the work must be done with responsibility. The technicians had originally called for the strike to demand salary adjustments and to protest what they described as unilateral decisions by the company. TAAG currently operates flights to 13 domestic and 12 international destinations.
