Taanusiya Chetty places third at Miss World 2026

Taanusiya Chetty placed third at the Miss World 2026 pageant held in Nha Trang, Vietnam, tying the record for Malaysia’s best-ever finish set by Lina Teoh in 1998. The 26-year-old contestant also earned the title of Miss World Asia.

Chetty secured her position in the Top 6 by winning the ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ segment, which recognizes contestants for their community impact. Her winning project involved establishing a school within an Orang Asli hospital in Gombak. She also gained viral attention during the competition for her ability to speak four languages: English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil.

Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic was crowned the winner, while Elisabeth Reynes Alabern of Spain finished as the first runner-up. The 73rd edition of the pageant featured 111 contestants from around the world.
