Taapsee Pannu returns to action genre in film ‘Gandhari’

Actor Taapsee Pannu is returning to the action genre in the upcoming film ‘Gandhari’, produced by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Devashish Makhija. Speaking at the Jagran Film Festival, Pannu explained that she had previously avoided action roles despite audience requests following her films ‘Baby’ and ‘Naam Shabana’.

Pannu cited the high physical exertion required for action sequences as a primary reason for her hiatus. She noted that her films often lack the budget for advanced techniques like face replacement or extensive green-screen work, requiring her to perform the physical stunts herself.

She expressed a desire to elevate her performance beyond her previous action roles to ensure the return was worthwhile for her audience. ‘Gandhari’ follows the story of a mother who fiercely protects her child.
