Taban Farda Petrochemical Group prepares for major IPO

Taban Farda Petrochemical Group is preparing for what is described as the largest initial public offering (IPO) in the country's capital market. During an introductory meeting for its entry into the Tehran Stock Exchange, officials highlighted the company's significant scale and strategic role in the non-oil export sector, which accounts for approximately 46 percent of the nation's non-oil exports.

The net asset value of the petrochemical giant is estimated at approximately 965 trillion tomans. Based on a 50 percent P/NAV ratio, the company's valuation is estimated at 480 trillion tomans. However, other estimates suggest a valuation of 384 trillion tomans, reflecting a 40 percent P/NAV, which proponents argue indicates significant undervaluation compared to industry peers.

For the current year, a profit of 25 trillion tomans is projected, with a predicted dividend distribution of 70 percent. Potential drivers for increased profitability include the recognition of income from the National Tanker Company and the upcoming general assembly of Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (Fars), which may result in an unusual positive impact on Taban Farda's financial statements.
