Tabasco wins 11 medals at National Speed Skating Championship

The Tabasco state selection achieved a historic performance at the 2026 National Speed Skating Championship, securing 11 medals. The event, which hosted over 600 athletes, took place at the new Olimpia XXI Sports Unit skating rink.

Elisa Ramírez del Puerto led the Tabasco team with gold medals in the 80-meter lanes, 500-meter sprint, and elimination trials, earning her a spot in the CONADE Nationals. Other notable performers included Valentina Hernández Villamil, Romina Vázquez Díaz, and Leonardo Reyes Galván.

Gabriel Isaac Ruiz Pérez, director of INJUDET, stated that hosting this championship is part of a strategy to establish Tabasco as a venue for federated events and to support athletes in their pursuit of international competitions.
