Tabaski Ngom lawyers contest inmate assault allegations

Lawyers for Tabaski Ngom are contesting allegations that she assaulted a pregnant fellow inmate. The defense denies the accusations, claiming that Ngom was actually the victim of repeated physical aggression and verbal provocations while in detention.

The legal team has requested a medical assessment and a clarification from the Special Pavilion Directorate regarding a complaint filed against A. Diatta. They noted that an altercation occurred on August 30, 2026, involving a pregnant inmate who was subsequently hospitalized in Dakar.

Defense counsel argues that Ngom’s previous supportive behavior toward the inmate is inconsistent with the claims of violence. They are seeking further evidence, including audio recordings and witness testimonies, to establish the truth of the incidents.
