Tabelog announces top 100 Japanese confectionery shops for 2026

Tabelog, operated by Kakaku.com, has announced its ‘Tabelog Wagashi/Kanmidokoro Hyakumeiten 2026’ list, identifying the top 100 Japanese confectionery and sweet shops across different regions. This marks the second time this specific gourmet award has been presented.

The selection is based on high user ratings for categories including wagashi, daifuku, taiyaki, dorayaki, castella, and senbei. The list is divided into three major regions: TOKYO, EAST, and WEST.

In the TOKYO region, Chuo Ward had the highest concentration of selected shops with 14, followed by Taito and Minato wards with 12 each. The EAST region saw the most selections in Aichi, Kanagawa, and Gifu prefectures. The WEST region was heavily dominated by Kyoto and Osaka, which together accounted for approximately 70% of the selections in that area.

New entries for the 2026 list include several notable establishments, such as Kanten Kobo Sanukiya Shinjuku Honten in Tokyo, Ningyo-yaki Yamada-ya Honten in Sumida, and Kameya Kiyonaga in Kyoto.
