Tabletop tournaments held in Mostar and Zenica

Various tabletop gaming tournaments were recently held in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Mostar, the fourth national backgammon rating tournament took place on September 26, 2026. Organized by the Bijelopoljac Mostar Backgammon Club and the Backgammon Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the event hosted 57 players from various cities including Sarajevo, Jablanica, and Bihać. Almir Hadžiomerović from TK Liska Mostar secured first place with a perfect 7/0 score.

In Zenica, the “Zenica 2026” blitz chess tournament was held on September 27, 2026. The FIDE-registered event drew 39 participants competing in a nine-round Swiss system. FIDE Master Nihad Hodžić from Sarajevo claimed first place with 7.5 points, followed by Amir Hadžović in second and Faris Čunjalo in third. The tournament included several titled players and awarded special prizes for the top female player and the most successful cadet under 18.
