Tabriz food unit fined for illegal sale of subsidized flour

A food processing unit in Tabriz has been convicted for the illegal possession and sale of 693 bags of flour, including both subsidized and industrial varieties. The shipment was discovered during a joint operation by the Economic Security Police following public reports.

Investigations revealed that the flour lacked the necessary legal documentation and was not registered in the official distribution chain. Because the defendant could not prove the legal registration of the goods in the Sima system, the sixth primary branch of the Tabriz Government Discretionary Tribunal issued a ruling for the full seizure of the goods.

Additionally, the unit was ordered to pay a fine of 15 billion and 874 million Rials to the government fund. Samad Hazrati, the Director General of the East Azerbaijan Government Discretionary Tribunal, stated that the fine was calculated based on twice the value of the subsidized flour and once the value of the free-market flour. He emphasized that flour is a strategic commodity for national food security and warned against the illegal trade of subsidized goods intended for public use.
