Tabriz opens first independent printing and publishing museum

The Tabriz Printing and Publishing Museum has officially opened in East Azerbaijan, Iran, marking a significant step in preserving the region's industrial and cultural heritage. The museum is the first independent institution of its kind dedicated to the history of printing and publishing.

Nematollah Payan, the Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance for East Azerbaijan, highlighted Tabriz's historical role in the development of modern printing in Iran, noting that roots of the industry in the country can be traced back to the city. He emphasized a strategic shift from traditional printing to a creative economy, focusing on modernization, smart technologies, and digital printing.

Payan also identified significant export potential for the region, suggesting that Tabriz can leverage its proximity to neighboring countries to expand the export of printing services.

Additionally, Ahmad Hamzazadeh, Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts for East Azerbaijan, noted that the opening brings the total number of museums in the province to 48. He stated that the province now ranks second in Iran for the number of museums, following Tehran, with a goal to reach 70 museums to enhance the region's international standing.
