The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has intensified its investigation into Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) following findings from a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI). The probe covers management, operations, and assets from 2014 to 2020, revealing that TH allegedly concealed its true financial position, reporting a RM3.4 billion profit in 2017 when it should have recorded a RM1.4 billion net loss.

To date, 18 individuals have been arrested, including a former minister, a former chairman, and a former Treasury secretary-general. While some high-profile detainees have been released after remand, MACC Chief Commissioner Abd Halim Aman indicated that a VVIP is expected to be charged in court soon. Key areas of investigation include Al Rawda property leases in Saudi Arabia, investments in TH Marine, TH Alam, and TH Alam Management totaling RM334.2 million, and a 30 percent stake in Putrajaya Perdana Berhad.

Legal proceedings are ongoing, with several charges expected to be filed in various courts across Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Kelantan. Meanwhile, TH Chairman Rashid Hussin stated that the implementation of RCI recommendations is nearing completion, pending amendments to the Tabung Haji Act 1995 to strengthen institutional governance and regulatory oversight.
