Tabung Kasih@HAWANA provides welfare aid to Malaysian media practitioners

The Tabung Kasih@HAWANA X Telekom Malaysia (TM) initiative continues to provide financial assistance to media practitioners facing health challenges. This welfare program, led by the Ministry of Communications through BERNAMA and supported by Telekom Malaysia’s corporate social responsibility funds, aims to support media professionals in need.

In Sabah, three practitioners received aid: Kamarudin Abdullah and Floris Philip from Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), and Mohammed Fairuz Mohammed Yazzer, a cameraman from Media Prima. Their medical issues include injuries from a road accident, heart problems, and a slipped disc.

In Perlis, former RTM staff member Purkhan Mokhtar, also known as DJ Anak Kampung, received assistance to support his ongoing weekly physiotherapy. Since the collaboration with TM began in June 2026, 94 media practitioners nationwide have benefited, contributing to a total of 864 recipients since the fund's inception in April 2023.
