Tacacá ranked among the world's 50 best soups

Tacacá, a traditional dish from the Brazilian state of Pará, has been ranked 27th in the list of the 50 best soups in the world by the gastronomy platform TasteAtlas. With a rating of 4.3, it is the highest-ranking Brazilian representative on the list.

The dish is of indigenous origin and is prepared using tucupi (a yellow liquid extracted from wild manioc), tapioca starch, jambu, and dried shrimp. Jambu is noted for causing a slight numbing sensation in the mouth. In Pará, the dish is often referred to as a 'caldo' and is traditionally served hot in gourds, frequently sold by street vendors in cities like Belém.

In the TasteAtlas ranking, the Paraguayan dish vori-vori took first place with a score of 4.7. The rankings are determined based on user evaluations submitted through the platform's specific analysis and filtering mechanisms.
