Tacna producers sell 11 tons of oregano for S/134,592

Agricultural producers in Tacna, Peru, have successfully commercialized over 11,000 kilograms of dehydrated oregano, generating gross sales of S/134,592. The sales were facilitated through commercial support from Agromercado, an agency of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI).

The transactions involved two primary organizations: the Asociación de Productores de Orégano Verde Amanecer Challaviento from the Pachia district, which sold 6,316 kilograms for S/75,792 to buyers supplying the Lima market, and Grupo Oromun S.R.L. from Estique, which sold 4,900 kilograms for S/58,800 to Provex Import y Export for export purposes.

Both groups have been receiving technical assistance since 2025, including support for quality control, production cost determination, and market linkage to help organize supply and facilitate access to national and international markets.
