Tacna to host IV Book and Culture Festival in November

The IV Book and Culture Festival of Tacna 2026 is scheduled to take place from November 3 to 8 at the Jorge Basadre Convention Center. Under the theme “More reading, more inclusion,” the event is expected to attract approximately 8,000 visitors and feature 17 publishing houses.

The program includes book presentations, theater performances, musical acts, and various workshops, such as sign language and inclusive mime. Notable activities include a discussion on editorial production in indigenous languages and a comic book creation workshop.

As part of the festival, high-value historical publications will be distributed free of charge to regional school libraries and cultural centers. These include 1,000 copies each of Ernesto Yépez’s analysis of the Pershing-Lassiter secret report and Federico Barreto’s “La vida en el Ucayali.” The initiative aims to preserve documentary heritage and encourage reading habits from an early age.
