Taco Bell launches $1 Enchirito deal as it clears lettuce-linked outbreak

Taco Bell announced a one‑day promotion pricing its Enchirito at $1, down from the usual $3.99‑$5.49 price. The deal is limited to five Enchiritos per order, and rewards‑member customers can add Nacho Fries for $1 through the app. The promotion comes as the chain seeks to regain customers after a noticeable drop in visits.

The decline in traffic is linked to a cyclospora outbreak traced to iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms from central Mexico. Epidemiological evidence connected cases at Taco Bell locations in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia. Taylor Farms issued a recall covering lettuce distributed to 27 states. Taco Bell removed the affected lettuce from its nationwide supply chain, and CEO Sean Tresvant said the company is working with public‑health officials and aims to "earn loyalty one meal at a time."
