Taco Hemingway responds to censorship dispute in new song
Polish rapper Taco Hemingway has addressed his ongoing dispute with the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate in a new song titled ‘Impulsy’. The track is part of the album ‘Człowiek nie do końca’ by Fisz Emade Tworzywo, which was released on October 12.
The controversy stems from Hemingway’s previous song, ‘Zakochałem się pod apteką’, which contained the name of a popular medication containing codeine. The Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate intervened following concerns that fans might attempt to purchase the medication in large quantities.
In the nearly eight-minute track ‘Impulsy’, Hemingway uses the dispute to comment on broader themes of artistic freedom and the interpretation of art. He questions the inspectorate's understanding of the role of a lyrical protagonist and the boundaries of creative expression.
