The 2026 Vuelta a España begins on August 22 in Monaco and concludes on September 13 in Granada. The race features a demanding route with over 58,000 meters of climbing and seven summit finishes.

Five-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar returns to the Vuelta for the first time since 2019, entering as the heavy favorite. A victory would allow him to complete the career Grand Tour sweep, joining only eight other riders to have won the Tour, Giro d'Italia, and Vuelta a España.

Other notable competitors include Richard Carapaz, Felix Gall, and Mattias Skjelmose. Primož Roglič faces uncertainty regarding his fitness following a recent accident involving a motorist. The race will be broadcast live worldwide across all 21 stages.
