Tadej Pogacar dominates 2026 Tour de Suisse

Slovenian rider Tadej Pogacar secured a commanding overall victory in the 2026 Tour de Suisse, finishing more than six minutes ahead of his nearest challenger. The five‑day race, shortened from its traditional eight‑day format, featured a mix of mountainous stages, a short individual time trial and a final summit finish in Villars‑sur‑Ollon. Pogacar won the opening stage, the time trial in Aarburg, and the decisive mountain finish, also topping the points classification with 42 points.

Richard Carapaz placed second, trailing by over six minutes, while Mathias Vacek claimed third overall. Other stage winners included Romain Grégoire (stage 2), Jhonatan Narváez (stage 3) and Tim Merlier and Jasper Philipsen in the parallel Baloise Belgium Tour, underscoring the race’s role as a key preparation event for the upcoming Tour de France.

The race attracted a strong international field, with notable performances from riders such as Bart Lemmen, who finished second in the points race, and several Dutch and Italian competitors. The event highlighted Pogacar’s dominance ahead of the season’s Grand Tours.
