Tadej Pogacar ends season after serious Vuelta a España crash

Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar has been forced to end his season following a serious crash during the Vuelta a España. The rider, who was leading the race at the time of the incident, suffered a displaced clavicle fracture and a concussion.

UAE Team Emirates-XRG manager Mauro Gianetti confirmed the severity of the injuries, noting that the clavicle fracture required a complex surgical procedure. The accident has prevented Pogacar from competing in several major upcoming events, including the European and World Championships, as well as Il Lombardia.

While the injury is a significant setback, Gianetti stated that Pogacar is approaching the situation with serenity, acknowledging that the consequences of the fall could have been even more severe.
