Tadej Pogacar extends lead in Tour de Suisse as Narváez wins stage

Tadej Pogacar, four‑time Tour de France champion, retained the yellow jersey in the 2026 Tour de Suisse, keeping a 2:50 advantage over Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz after a dominant solo victory on the opening stage.

On stage 2 Pogacar limited his attacks while his girlfriend, Urska Zigart, suffered a serious crash in the concurrent women's race, sustaining a jaw fracture; Pogacar finished 12th in the main field.

Stage 3 was won by Ecuador’s Jhonatan Narváez, who broke away early and held on despite heavy rain, with Belgian Xandro Meurisse and Danish Cort Magnus completing the podium; Carapaz was second and Andrea Bagioli third.

The race will continue with a 23.7 km individual time trial on Saturday before a mountainous final stage at Villars‑sur‑Ollon.
