Tadej Pogacar to support Slovenia at World Championships in Canada

Tadej Pogacar will travel to Montreal, Canada, to support the Slovenian national cycling team during the upcoming World Championships, despite being unable to compete. Pogacar is sidelined following a severe crash during the eighth stage of La Vuelta, which resulted in a concussion, a fractured left clavicle, and a fractured cervical vertebra.

Slovenian national coach Uros Murn confirmed that while Pogacar’s absence from the race is a significant loss, his presence as a motivator and supporter will benefit the squad. The team's leadership is expected to shift toward Primoz Roglic, who is currently in strong form. Murn noted that the team may adopt a more aggressive tactical approach now that they are no longer the primary focus for race control.

In addition to supporting the men's team, Pogacar will be in Canada to support his partner, Urška Žigart, who is participating in the elite women's road race.
