Tadej Pogačar announces 2027 cycling goals
Professional cyclist Tadej Pogačar has outlined his primary objectives for the 2027 season, which include the Tour de France, the World Championships, and the Vuelta a España. Speaking at a charity event in Slovenia, the UAE Team Emirates rider confirmed that his recent season-ending injury was caused by hitting a large stone, debunking various rumors regarding the cause of his crash during the Vuelta.
Pogačar detailed the severity of his injuries, which included a fractured collarbone, a broken vertebra, and a concussion. He noted that the fear of further injury prevented him from competing in the European Championships earlier this year. Having already begun his training preparations, he plans to meet with his team management in Abu Dhabi to finalize his upcoming schedule.
In addition to his competitive plans, Pogačar highlighted the success of his foundation during a charity gala. The event raised significant funds to support individuals with serious illnesses and families in difficult circumstances, including 118,000 euros for those affected by severe storms in Komenda.
