Tadeo Jones franchise returns with fourth animated film

The fourth installment of the Spanish animated franchise, ‘Tadeo Jones y la lámpara maravillosa’, is set to premiere in Spanish cinemas on August 26. Directed by Enrique Gato, the film marks the latest chapter in a saga that has earned over $120 million globally and attracted 8 million viewers in Spain.

The new adventure follows Tadeo and Sara, who are now parents to their two-year-old daughter, Oli. The plot involves a time-traveling Mummy attempting to return to his youth, forcing Tadeo and Sara to prevent him from altering history. The story spans multiple locations, including Peru, Greece, and the Middle East.

Produced by several studios including Telecinco Cinema and Lightbox Animation Studios, and distributed by Paramount Pictures, the franchise remains one of Spain’s most profitable animation exports. Director Enrique Gato noted that the film will include nods to his hometown of Valladolid and Spain in general to honor the character's origins.
