Tadeu Schmidt reunites with brother after Oscar Schmidt’s death

Brazilian TV presenter Tadeu Schmidt, 52, posted a photo on Instagram showing him meeting his brother Luiz Felipe Schmidt for the first time since a series of family losses. In April 2026, the family’s patriarch, basketball legend Oscar Schmidt, died at 68 from a heart attack after a long battle with a brain tumor. A month later, their mother Janira Schmidt, 92, also passed away.

Tadeu wrote that the "original core of our family is now just the two of us" and urged people to cherish the moments they have. He also reflected on his recent 52nd birthday, emphasizing that life continues despite hardship.
