Tadeusz Dulny: Polish cleric martyred in Dachau concentration camp
The Catholic Church commemorates Blessed Tadeusz Dulny, a Polish cleric who was martyred in the Dachau concentration camp. Born in 1914 in Krzczonowice, Dulny entered the theological seminary in Włocławek and received minor orders in 1938.
Following the German occupation of Poland, the Gestapo arrested professors and students from the Włocławek seminary on November 7, 1939. Dulny was moved through several locations, including a prison in Włocławek, a transit camp in Ląd, and Sachsenhausen, before being transferred to Dachau in December 1940.
During his imprisonment, Dulny suffered from hunger and forced labor. Accounts indicate that rather than prioritizing his own survival, he assisted elderly and sick fellow prisoners.
