Tadeusz Rozwadowski: Architect of the Polish Army

General Tadeusz Rozwadowski is recognized as a key architect of the Polish Army and a central figure in the Polish victory during the 1920 conflict. Despite his significant military contributions, historical accounts suggest his legacy was obscured by subsequent Sanacja and communist censorship.

Born into a family with a strong tradition of military service, Rozwadowski was educated in Austrian military schools at the urging of his father, Tomisław Rozwadowski, a January Uprising insurgent. His military career included distinguished service during the 1914 campaign, for which he received the Order of Maria Theresa, an Austro-Hungarian decoration awarded for exceptional wartime merit.
