ZUS begins distribution of 14th pension in Poland
The Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) has commenced the distribution of the 14th pension for September 2026. The maximum benefit amount is 1,978.49 PLN gross, which is fully payable to those whose base pension or disability benefit does not exceed 2,900 PLN gross. For those above this threshold, the amount is reduced according to the ‘złotówka za złotówka’ (zloty for zloty) principle.
Payments are being distributed automatically alongside regular monthly benefits on scheduled dates throughout September. Recipients of pre-retirement benefits are scheduled to receive their installment on October 1.
Other significant updates regarding Polish social security include:
• New income limits for working retirees and pensioners take effect on September 1, 2026. To avoid benefit suspension, monthly income must not exceed 12,003.10 PLN gross, with a non-reduction threshold set at 6,463.20 PLN gross.
• New projections suggest that pension indexation for March 2027 could reach 3.96 percent, potentially increasing the minimum pension to approximately 2,056.84 PLN gross.
• Combatant supplements have been set at 366.68 PLN monthly as of March 2026 for eligible individuals.
• Individuals born in 1948 may apply for pension recalculations if they have new evidence of contribution periods or earnings.
