Taean to host 2026 Korea Dullegil and East-West Trail walking week

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Tourism Organization, and the Korea Forest Service will hold a declaration ceremony for the ‘2026 Korea Dullegil X East-West Trail Walking Travel Week’ on October 1 at the Taean Marine Healing Center in South Chungcheong Province.

The event marks the intersection of the Korea Dullegil, a 4,500km coastal and border trail fully opened in 2024, and the East-West Trail, an 850km forest path currently under construction with full completion expected in late 2027. The declaration ceremony will take place at Mongsanpo Beach, where the two trails meet.

A public participation event will feature a 3km walk from the Taean Marine Healing Center to Mongsanpo Beach, with registration open for the first 500 participants via the ‘Durunubi’ app. Participants can also access discounted wellness programs, including yoga and singing bowl sound therapy.

Additional nationwide events will run through October 11, including AI-based landscape quizzes, stamp challenges, and local cafe promotions designed to stimulate regional economies. Regional programs are also scheduled in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.
