Taekwondo Italian Championships return to Calabria

The Italian Taekwondo Championships are returning to Calabria after a ten-year hiatus. Scheduled from October 16 to 18, the event will take place at the PalaEventi in Rossano.

A total of 793 athletes are expected to participate, competing in 722 matches across several categories, including Junior Red Belt, Under 21, Senior Red Belt, and Master. The event was officially presented at the Castello Ducale in Corigliano-Rossano, attended by FITA President Angelo Cito and various regional and local institutional representatives.

President Angelo Cito highlighted the dedication of Calabrian masters who have trained international-level athletes, such as two-time world champion and Olympic medalist Simone Alessio. Local officials, including Corigliano-Rossano Sport Councilor Costantino Argentino and CONI Calabria President Tino Scopelliti, noted the event's importance for regional sports growth and local promotion.
