Tagliacozzo hosts 42nd International Midsummer Festival

The 42nd edition of the Festival Internazionale di Mezza Estate in Tagliacozzo continues with a diverse program of music, literature, and comedy.

Musical highlights include a tribute to Fabrizio De Andrè by his son, Cristiano De Andrè, and a performance by Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley accompanied by the Orchestra dell’Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese. Earlier in the festival, a Mozart-themed dawn concert was held at the Santuario della Madonna dell’Oriente.

In comedy, Enrico Brignano’s performance of ‘Bello di Mamma’ reached a sold-out status, though the event was briefly rescheduled to Tuesday, August 18, due to adverse weather conditions to ensure public safety.

Literary presentations also feature in the schedule, including Gianluca Di Feo’s ‘Il cielo sporco’ and Roberta Bernardi’s ‘Cinquanta minuti a settimana, dieci vite, dieci pazienti, una scelta’.
