Taguatinga businessman murdered in his restaurant

A 56-year-old businessman, Moisés Ribeiro de Araújo, was shot and killed inside his restaurant, Gordeixos, in Taguatinga, Distrito Federal, on Saturday, October 3. The incident occurred around 1:00 PM while the establishment was open and serving customers.

Authorities have identified 33-year-old Guilherme Estrela Ribeiro as the primary suspect. According to police reports, the suspect entered the restaurant, shot the victim multiple times, and allegedly stated the act was a ‘lesson’ regarding a personal dispute involving a woman before fleeing the scene. Witnesses described a scene of terror as customers and employees were forced to take cover on the floor during the shooting.

Guilherme Estrela Ribeiro remains at large. He has a criminal record involving homicide and drug trafficking, including a previous shootout with civil police in 2016. The Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF) are investigating the case as a homicide and are requesting public assistance to locate the suspect.
