Tahirpur: Three children die after father consumes pesticide

In Tahirpur, Sunamganj, a father consumed pesticide along with his three children, resulting in the deaths of all three children. The victims have been identified as Mawa Akter (10), Shamim Mia (7), and Tamim Mia (2).

The incident occurred around 1:00 AM on Friday in Rajniline village. The father, 35-year-old Sarfat Ali, is currently in critical condition and has been transferred to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Local residents and police reports suggest that the incident may have been linked to domestic discord following the departure of Sarfat Ali's wife to Saudi Arabia three days prior. After consuming the pesticide, Sarfat Ali reportedly called an aunt in Mymensingh to inform her of the act and ask for forgiveness. Family members discovered the scene after breaking down the door.

Tahirpur police have confirmed that legal proceedings are ongoing and an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the event.
