Tahnee Schaffarczyk discusses difficult coming‑out with mother on German TV show Inas Nacht

Stand‑up comedian Tahnee Schaffarczyk (34) appeared on the NDR‑late‑night program Inas Nacht, hosted by Ina Müller. During the interview she recounted telling her mother that she is attracted to women, describing the moment as “not a good one.” She said her mother was initially overwhelmed, reportedly saying, “Can’t even have something normal in this house?” and joking about driving into a tree, though no violence occurred.

Schaffarczyk, who was born in Heinsberg near Cologne, has been openly gay on stage for several years and married fellow singer Juliette Schoppmann in 2023. She noted that she now feels more secure discussing her sexuality publicly, contrasting with earlier years of personal struggle.
