Taichung bus driver accused of disabling stop bells and threatening passengers

A passenger in Taichung reported that a driver on the Route 28 bus allegedly disabled the vehicle's stop bells, preventing passengers from signaling their desire to disembark. The passenger recorded a confrontation in which the driver responded with aggressive gestures and verbal warnings, telling the individual to “sit down and stop bothering me.”

Online commenters and witnesses have raised concerns regarding the driver's behavior, with some suggesting the driver may have intentionally cut power to the bell system. Reports indicate that this driver has been the subject of previous complaints regarding similar misconduct, including refusing to allow passengers to board or manipulating vehicle speed during station approaches.
