Taichung Green Media Art Museum visited to support Yunlin museum plans

Legislator Chang Chia-chun visited the Taichung Green Media Art Museum to study its operational model as part of plans to establish a county museum in Yunlin. Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen hosted the visit, discussing urban aesthetics and the management of public cultural venues.

Designed by the Japanese architectural firm SANAA, the Taichung facility integrates a municipal art museum and library. Since opening last December, the venue has seen over 1.87 million visitors. Chang expressed a desire to leverage Taichung’s experience to create a cultural platform in Yunlin that connects local heritage, such as puppet theater and pottery, with youth creation and tourism.

Mayor Lu offered to share Taichung’s expertise in developing large-scale public cultural infrastructure to enhance the quality of life and cultural depth across central Taiwan through regional cooperation.
