Taichung hot pot owners wanted in suspected 5 billion TWD fraud

The Taichung District Prosecutors Office has issued wanted notices for Huang Qunrui, Hong Yiying, their daughter, and an accountant following a massive suspected investment fraud involving the Dan Shui Gun hot pot chain.

The couple, who managed the Dan Group, reportedly fled the country in late May. While local rumors suggest they may have moved through China to Southeast Asia, police have not confirmed their current location. The group's various business interests, including a travel agency and an arts company, have all ceased operations.

Unverified reports suggest the scale of the fraud could involve nearly 500 victims and losses totaling up to 5 billion TWD. The scheme allegedly promised high returns, such as 30% annual interest, to friends, relatives, and community members. Victims include employees and members of the local Taekwondo community, with some reports indicating losses exceeding 100 million TWD in that specific sector alone.
