Taichung police officer detained over alleged forged traffic citations

Prosecutors in Taichung have detained a police officer and 10 others in connection with an investigation into forged documents related to traffic violation citations issued between 2019 and 2021. The officer, formerly of the Dadun Police Station, was requested to be detained by the Taichung District Court on charges including corruption and forgery, while the other 10 individuals were released on bail.

The Taichung City Police Department stated it is cooperating with the investigation and emphasized its commitment to maintaining integrity. The department noted that since June 2025, it has implemented an electronic citation system to prevent unauthorized modifications or deletions of enforcement data.
