Taichung promotes sustainable forestry and rural circular economy
The Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency's Taichung Branch is hosting an exhibition to showcase the results of its sustainable forestry and diverse assistance programs. The event highlights various sectors including native cinnamon industries, bamboo utilization, forest healing, and under-forest economies. To enhance management efficiency, the agency is integrating smart technologies such as drones, digital surveys, and ecological monitoring equipment into forest conservation efforts.
In the Dali District, the Zhuzikeng Community Development Association is also promoting rural regeneration through a circular economy project. This initiative focuses on plant dyeing techniques that repurpose agricultural waste, such as pruned branches from lychee and longan trees, into natural dyes for textile art. These efforts aim to combine low-carbon environmental concepts with local cultural preservation and creative industry development.
