Taichung Super Dome project targets completion within three years

The Taichung Super Dome project is moving toward a final agreement, with a total investment estimated at approximately 60 billion TWD. Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen announced that the city is finalizing the signing process with the preferred bidder, Taiwan Life, and expects to complete the contract by the end of the year.

To expedite construction and optimize operations, the project will incorporate expertise from the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters' stadium in Japan. By modeling the development after the successful ES CON FIELD HOKKAIDO, officials aim to complete the construction within roughly three years.

The facility is planned as a multi-functional complex located near the Shuinnan Economic and Trade Park and Central Park. The southern site will feature a baseball stadium meeting World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) international standards, with a capacity of at least 45,000 seats. Beyond baseball, the venue is designed to host large-scale concerts, exhibitions, and cultural events, and will integrate commercial elements such as hotels, shopping malls, dining, and leisure facilities.
